PORT JERVIS– Port Jervis Police and Fire Departments, as well as PJ Volunteer Ambulance Corps, responded to what was reported as a car into a house, with the driver trying to flee, just after noon on Saturday. However, police on the scene told that it was instead an elderly driver who had experienced a medical emergency and had struck a tree on a residential West Main Street property.
The driver had not, in fact, attempted to flee, but was transported by ambulance to Bon Secours Community Hospital for medical evaluation.
No serious injuries were reported, and damage was limited to two residential lawns and trees.
