WEST POINT– Can you meet the challenge of West Point? The U.S. Military Academy will conduct a rehearsal for Reception Day from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. June 25 on the academy grounds. If interested, sign up to be a cadet for a day.
Up to 250 members of the community are invited to assist the Corps of Cadets in preparation for the incoming Class of 2030. Participants will be given the opportunity to experience the initial transformation process from civilian to the military life of a new cadet.
Volunteers must register online on the sign-up page. Participants should dress comfortably in proper seasonal attire, bring a water bottle, sunscreen and bring one piece of luggage or a duffel bag marked with your first and last name. Should you have questions after you register, or need to cancel, please contact Capt. Hannah Stark, .
Participants must be 12 and older, in good health and not be a candidate for the Class of 2030. Those attending should enter Stony Gate and park in the A-Lot near Michie Stadium no later than 8:45 a.m. to simulate how the Cadet Candidates will arrive on R-Day. The rehearsal begins promptly at 9 a.m. and concludes with lunch in the Cadet Mess Hall from 12 to 1 p.m.
All volunteers that do not have access to West Point, must coordinate with the Visitor Control Center to receive a temporary pass to get on post. We recommend obtaining that pass prior to Thursday, June 25th. All personnel over 18 years of age must present valid identification when entering the installation.
