YORKTOWN- A car reportedly stolen in southern Westchester was stopped 45 miles later on the Taconic State Parkway in northern Putnam County after a pursuit during which the suspect intentionally rammed a Yorktown Police cruiser.
State Police Wednesday reported the arrest of Keanna Hogue, 29, of New Rochelle in connection with the incident.
Troop K Public Information Officer Trooper Krystal Paolicelli said patrols tried to stop the stolen Toyota traveling northbound along the TSP after the vehicle’s identification was broadcast by the Westchester Real Time Crime Center.
Police said Hogue did not comply, and a pursuit was initiated. During the pursuit, authorities noted, Hogue slammed into the police cruiser resulting in no injury to the officer.
As the chase went ahead into Putnam, the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office was notified along with Carmel and Kent Police and deputies deployed a tire deflation device near Pudding Street in western Kent resulting in the suspect’s car crashing.
Paolicelli said Hogue got out of the disabled vehicle and ran before officers took her into custody a brief time later.
She was transported to State Police at Stormville and was charged with felony counts of Criminal Mischief, Criminal Possession of Stolen Property along with multiple counts of Reckless Endangerment, Obstructing Governmental Administration and Unlawful Fleeing a Police Officer in a Motor Vehicle.
Following processing, Hogue was turned over to the Pelham Manor Police Department.
