CARMEL – Tina Cornish-Lauria has served the non-profit sector for more than 40 years while being committed to empowering and supporting clients at CAREERS Support Solutions, serving as a champion for those with disabilities always believing that helping people lead more independent, fulfilling lives will not only serve them and their families, but also have a significant impact on the entire community.

The Westchester Federation of Women’s Clubs has named the lifelong Carmel resident as its Woman of the Year for 2026.

During a ceremony in Somers, CAREERS Vocational Program Manager Jennifer Retacco, praised her boss for “leading with strength and compassion. Throughout her career, she has improved countless lives by advocating for people with disabilities while also serving as a mentor and role model for the women around her. Tina believes in supporting her staff not only professionally but also as individuals with families and responsibilities outside of the work place.”

Cornish-Lauria reflected on the recognition. “Non-profit work is not easy—it requires persistence, creativity, and hope, especially in challenging times. But it is deeply rewarding. My focus has always been on seeing potential where others see obstacles and building support systems that help people thrive.”
