Liberty cops investigating Saturday night shooting

LIBERTY – A 17-year-old boy was shot in the leg on Edgar Street in Liberty Saturday night around 10:15 p.m., and police are asking witnesses to step forward.

The teen was transported to Westchester Medical Center and is in stable condition.

Liberty Police Chief Steven D’Agata said the incident is being investigated by his department with the assistance of the state police, Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office, and the Sullivan County DA’s Office and there is no threat to the general public.
