PLATTEKILL – The Republican caucus in the Town of Plattekill has named its two candidates for the general election in November.
Dwight Dougherty will seek the town supervisor’s position.
“Dwight has been active in our community for over 40 years as a member of the Modena Fire Department, past fire commissioner, ZBA member and is currently a town employee,” said Kevin Roberts, chairman of the Plattekill Republican Committee. “Dwight knows the inner workings of town government and will make an excellent town supervisor.”
Garry Ashton is seeking another term as town justice.
“Garry was first elected town justice four years ago. He has done a great job as town justice,” said Roberts. “Garry recently secured two grants to offset expenses. Garry has been active in the law enforcement and firefighting communities his entire adult life.”
Republicans will caucus on June 24 at 7 p.m. at the highway garage.
