TOWN OF WALLKILL – The year’s long moratorium on construction of new distribution centers in the Town of Wall could come to an end soon.

Town Supervisor Frank DenDanto said the moratorium was extended for a brief period of time recently until the final town codes could be modified.

That could come within the week or so, he said.

While there are a number of those distribution/warehouse facilities that have already been constructed, others have been in varying stages of planning when the moratorium was first instituted some three years ago.

Those large facilities have become popular for just-in-time sales and distribution with the popularity and growth of the e-commerce marketplace.
