KINGSTON – A 76-year-old grandmother chained herself to a new wayfaring sign on Broadway near the Rondout in Kingston on Tuesday in protest to the new sign blocking an old done.

Sharon Boyd said she is one of hundreds of city residents who have signed petitions to have the sign repositioned.

Having had no response to her liking to date, she chained herself to a new signpost.

“They could use this new sign on the top of Broadway easier than they could the one that’s behind it. All they have to do is chop the legs and move it down to the waterfront,” she told .

Mayor Steven Noble could not be reached for comment on Tuesday.
