Orange County DA launches podcast

GOSHEN- “Safe Streets, Strong Communities” is the name of a new podcast debuting on your PC, iPad, cell phone, or other mobile device.

Orange County District Attorney David Hoovler says it will go behind the scenes to address public safety.

The video podcast will feature conversations with law enforcement leaders, elected officials, community members, and individuals making a difference across Orange County and beyond.

The focus of the podcast will be on public safety, crime prevention, community issues, policing, leadership, government, and the challenges facing communities today — while also highlighting the personal stories behind those serving the public.

Episode One features longtime Orange County public servant Paul Rickard, a former police officer, narcotics detective, police chief, town supervisor, basketball referee, and championship collegiate lacrosse referee.

In the debut episode, Hoovler and Rickard discuss growing up in Orange County, family, law enforcement, politics, and the changes the region has experienced over the years.

“Safe communities are built through communication, partnerships, and understanding,” said the DA. “This podcast is an opportunity to have real conversations with people who have dedicated their lives to public service and to discuss the issues that matter to our residents.”

New episodes of Safe Streets, Strong Communities will be released monthly, with additional bi-monthly winter episodes planned.
