NJ woman guilty of threatening Middletown City Court judge

GOSHEN – An Atlantic City, New Jersey woman faces up to 364 days in the Orange County Jail following her conviction on a charge of threatening a Middletown City Court judge.

Yon Renee Woodson-Renner, 65, left a message on the Middletown City Court answering machine threatening the judge who had previously sentenced her to jail following a jury trial.

The case was tried before Newburgh Town Justice Richard Clarino since both Middletown city judges recused themselves from the case.

Woodson-Renner is scheduled to be sentenced in July.

“A threat to a judge is a threat that goes to the very integrity of our criminal justice system and must be taken extremely seriously,” said District Attorney David Hoovler.
