POUGHKEEPSIE — A Poughkeepsie man was arrested Friday after police say he fled officers during a disturbance at King Street Park and was found with a loaded handgun.
Que’Saan Ellis, 19, was charged with felony criminal possession of a weapon and misdemeanor obstructing governmental administration, according to city police. He was processed at police headquarters and held pending arraignment.
Officers responded to the park, located between Innis and Corlies Avenues, after a report of a disturbance involving someone possibly armed with a gun. Police said they tried to approach a man matching the caller’s description, but he ran from officers.
Police said officers caught the man, later identified as Ellis, and found a loaded 9mm semi-automatic handgun in his possession. He was taken into custody and transported to police headquarters.
