SAUGERTIES – The driver and sole occupant of a 2025 Toyota traveling southbound in the northbound lanes was killed Sunday night when he crashed into three other vehicles between exists 19 and 20 in the Town of Saugerties, State Police said.
The victim was identified as Joseph Mensah-Otoo, 42, of Pittsfield, Massachusetts, who police said was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.
Six others were injured in the crash including a 37-year-old man from New City, a 59-year-old man and 44-year-old woman, both from Cohoes, two 19-year-old men from Dalton, Massachusetts, and a 19-year-old man from Hinsdale, Massachusetts.
All were transported to HealthAlliance Hospital in Kingston with non-life-threating injuries.
The investigation is continuing.
