When Vlad’s relationship ended, everyone expected anger.
Instead, he gave most of his belongings to his ex-girlfriend and quietly let her go.
His mother couldn’t believe it.
Knowing how stubborn and selfish he used to be, she looked at him and asked, “Why would you do that?”
Vlad simply replied, “She needed these things more than I did.”
His mother stared at him and said, “You’re a saint.”
But Vlad knew he wasn’t.
Years earlier, while finishing his engineering degree, a professor introduced him to Falun Dafa and suggested he read Zhuan Falun.
At first, he was skeptical. But after reading the book, one teaching changed him deeply: true compassion is not weakness.
“For many years, I thought compassion meant being soft or sentimental,” Vlad said. “But I learned that when I let go of selfishness and put others first, that is real compassion.”
He also learned to stop blaming others during conflict and first look within himself.
Slowly, his temper softened. His family noticed first. Then his friends.
Nearly 13 years later, he still reads Zhuan Falun every day.
“It helps guide me to become a better, more balanced person—one who is considerate.”
Sometimes, the greatest strength is simply learning how to let go.
