Wohl becomes Goshen mayor for third time

GOSHEN – Deputy Goshen Village Mayor Scott Wohl has been appointed to serve as mayor for the unexpired term of former Mayor Molly O’Donnell, who resigned to maintain her position as Orange County Commissioner of Jurors.

This is Wohl’s third time serving as mayor in the county’s village seat.

He said the village’s focus remains on responsible budgeting, strong municipal services and continued investment in the community.

“Over the past couple of years, I think we have seen a pretty significant transformation. The overall economy and the vibe in the Village of Goshen used to be based upon the county building and the courts and now we’re seeing a lot more focus on tourism, entertainment and engagement, so I think the community evolving and that’s what is contributing toward our longevity,” he said.

Wohl said the proposed 2026-27 village budget delivers a nearly two percent increase tax rate reduction while increasing investment in personnel, infrastructure, code enforcement and recreation programs.
