LIBERTY – The Leadership Sullivan, class of 2026, is launching Comfort Closets to provide Sullivan County students with essential personal care items. This initiative aims to boost student confidence and readiness by stocking new or existing school resources.
Leadership member Alyssa Wowk said that the need is real.
“The class project was created with one goal in mind, which was to help students feel cared for, confident, and prepared to learn.”
Wowk says t,he closets will be stocked with personal hygiene items like “Deodorant, toothbrushes, toothpaste, shampoo, conditioner, soap, socks, underwear, undershirts, sports bras and laundry detergent.”
She says it’s an honor for her to be part of the Sullivan County Chamber’s 2026 class.
“It’s really, truly something special and near and dear to my heart because ultimately, at the end of the day, the youth that are in our schools are our future.”
