NEWBURGH- The board of directors at Hudson Valley Pattern for Progress has appointed Alexandra S. Obremski as its next president and chief executive officer.
A Rockland County native, Obremski brings nearly two decades of public service experience in the Hudson Valley, including work in community development and municipal law. She will become the organization’s seventh president since its founding in 1965 and is set to begin her new role on May 18.
Obremski currently serves as director of the Rockland County Office of Community Development, where she helped lead the county’s first comprehensive housing plan and oversaw initiatives to expand affordable housing.
Board Chair Mary Beth Bianconi said Obremski’s background and commitment to public service make her well suited to lead the organization, which focuses on regional planning and research across the Hudson Valley.
Obremski is also notable as the first graduate of the organization’s Pattern Fellows Program to rise to the role of president.
