TOWN OF ROCKLAND – A 40-year-old Rochester man was arrested by State Police following a vehicle and traffic stop on westbound Route 17 in the Town of Rockland

<div class="gjw_content"><div class="elementor-widget-container"><p><span style="font-weight: 400;">TOWN OF ROCKLAND – A 40-year-old Rochester man was arrested by State Police following a vehicle and traffic stop on westbound Route 17 in the Town of Rockland after he was found in possession of drugs.</span></p><p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Troopers pulled over Yassir Ali Mohamed Sharhan at about 7:50 p.m. on Wednesday, April 15. Sharhan who was alone in a 2026 Kia, was found to be driving while impaired by khat, a stimulant. A search of his car yields some 432 grams of the drug.</span></p><p><span style="font-weight: 400;">He was charged with two felony counts of drug possession, one of which was for intent to sell, as well as operating a motor vehicle impaired by drugs as a misdemeanor.</span></p><p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Sharhan was arraigned and remanded to the Sullivan County Jail without bail pending a future court appearance.</span></p><br><br></div></div>
