LIBERTY – It was a culinary delight Tuesday night during the 2026 A Taste of Sullivan fundraising event for the Liberty and Monticello Rotary Clubs. Judy Siegel from the Liberty Rotary said that the funds raised will help the Sullivan County Federation for the Homeless, among other organizations.
“From a fundraising perspective, oh my gosh, there are so many people who have so much need around here. So it’s huge,” she said. “We’re going to raise thousands, many thousands of dollars to help the organizations that make life just a little bit easier for those who can’t afford to eat.”
Kathy Kreiter from the Federation for the Homeless says the money they got from last year’s event paid for many necessities.
“We received over $7,000 from that event last year. That’s several tanks of fuel oil. That’s our electric bill. You know, those are the things the Federation struggles sometimes to pay, just like people we serve struggle to pay.”
