CLARKSTOWN – An Elmsford man, who was driving while drunk and rammed into a disabled car that was parked partially in the travel lane and on the right shoulder of the northbound Thruway in Clarkstown in the overnight hours of August 11, 2025, has been charged with vehicular manslaughter and manslaughter in the death of the other motorist, State Police said.
Investigators determined that William Peralta, 25, was speeding while intoxicated when his 2014 Ford struck a disabled Nissan driven by Steven Redner, 47, of Tallman, killing him.
Peralta, who sustained life-threatening injuries, was transported to Westchester Medical Center.
He was also charged with driving while intoxicated and issued several traffic tickets.
The incident occurred at around 12:40 a.m.
