LOCH SHELDRAKE – Only one faculty member is on the list of 15 SUNY Sullivan staff members who will be eliminated as part of the realignment to maintain the financial viability of the college.
President David Potash the remainder will be ‘back of house’ positions, and that will take time as the employee unions and the college board of trustees review them.
“They range from buildings and grounds staff to clerical staff, to people who work behind the scenes in IT, and some of our student services – things that I would consider all back essential, but back of house,” he said.
In all, the staff reductions will total between $1.2- and $1.4 million, Potash said.
