CARMEL – With Easter less than a week away, thousands of Easter eggs were collected by children of all ages over the weekend in conjunction with traditional Easter egg festivities.
In Putnam County, events brought out hundreds of children and their families to the Carmel Town Park in Mahopac, Brewster High School, Ryan Field in Lake Carmel, Patterson Recreation in Putnam Lake, Putnam Valley Recreational area and in Cold Spring.
Churches were also crowded with worshippers Sunday who celebrated Palm Sunday and for those of the Jewish faith, the holiday of Passover begins at sundown on Wednesday.
