TOWN OF NEWBURGH – Fire at 3 Snyder Avenue in the Orange Lake area of the Town of Newburgh damaged a home on Wednesday.
Flames and heavy smoke billowed from the attic area of the home as several fire departments responded to the scene.
As firefighters knocked down the flames with handlines, others were venting the roof.
The Town of Newburgh fire inspector was on the scene and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
Mutual aid at the scene assisting Orange Lake included Winona Lake, Newburgh, Plattekill, Walden, Coldenham and Goodwill with Orange Lake and Winona Lake on standby.
Police and EMS also responded and Central Hudson was called to cut the power to the home.
