STORMVILLE – A corrections officer at Greenhaven Correctional Facility has been indicted by a Dutchess County grand jury on a felony assault charge in connection with an alleged assault on an inmate at the maximum-security prison.
The State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigations said an inmate had been hospitalized with serious injuries that resulted from an alleged attack by an officer.
The alleged assailant was identified as Calvin Morges, 43, of Fishkill, who turned himself in to State Police on March 19. He was processed and released pending future court proceedings.
The investigation began in April 2024 after the State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision’s Office of Special Investigations reported a prisoner at Greenhaven had been hospitalized after ran assault.
