WHITE PLAINS – Law enforcement authorities in Westchester County have intercepted a package with 12 kilograms of cocaine with a street value of some $1 million.

It was en route to a White Plains address.

Reported overdoses are up in the county, from 639 in 2024 to 652 in 2025. Overdose fatalities have decreased during the same period and that is attributed to the use of Narcan.

But, officials warn new, synthetic drugs, like K2, are being distributed, which threaten to undo the downward trend in fatalities.

“Westchester has managed to bring down the number of overdose fatalities, even with the number of overdoses rising overall,” said District Attorney Susan Cacace. “Nevertheless, interceptions like the one announced today offer a glimpse at how persistent the problem remains.”

The investigation and successful seize of the cocaine was a joint investigation by the DA’s Office and Homeland Security Investigations.
