MIDDLETOWN – Dogs that act up in public parks in Middletown may be asked to leave along with their owners once the common council takes action.
The council’s legislative committee approved the policy and Mayor Joseph DeStefano said they want to allow dogs in certain parks, but they must behave.
“We’re looking for some regulations that if someone’s dog is growling at somebody at Festival Square if a band is playing, that a police officer can say the dog is acting aggressively – also park staff it could be,” he said.
Once approved by the common council signs will be installed with the new rules.
