TOWN OF CRAWFORD – An 81-year-old Middletown woman, driving with an eight-year-old passenger in her vehicle, experienced a medical issue and crashed her 2011 Nissan in the Town of Crawford, State Police said.

Marilyn Duncan was driving on Route 17K on the afternoon of March 10 when a town officer spotted her driving on the wrong side of the road. The officer activated his lights and siren, and for an unknown reason, the driver struck an unoccupied 2012 Honda parked on the shoulder and then ran into a ditch.

As a result of the initial impact, the Honda was pushed into two other parked cars, a 2013 Subaru and a 2013 Toyota.

Both Duncan and the child were taken to Garnet Health Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

The investigation is continuing.
