MID-HUDSON – Everyone was a ‘little bit Irish” Tuesday as St. Patrick’s Day was celebrated across the region in local pubs, restaurants, at civic and fraternal organizations and during family gatherings.

Long lines of revelers filled Fiddler’s Green in Carmel before noon while McCarthy’s in Lake Carmel served up hundreds of pounds of corned beef dinners throughout the day.

County Executive Kevin Byrne, Putnam’s Number One Irishman, enjoyed the day as well.

Byrne loves playing his bagpipes as he serenaded many of Putnam’s ‘seasoned citizens,’ at gatherings hosted by the Office of Senior Resources.
