KERHONKSON – A 19-year-old Kerhonkson man has been arrested by the State Police’s Computer Crimes Unit on multiple felony charges related to the promotion of obscene material involving children.
Jesse J. Bayetis has been charged with 20 counts of promoting an obscene sexual performance by a child less than 17 years of age, a Class D felony. Bayetis is accused of promoting images consistent with child sexual exploitation, depicting infants and children. The investigation was initiated following a cyber tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC), which led to the execution of a search warrant at the suspect’s residence on December 19, 2025.
This arrest is the result of a joint investigation conducted by the State Police’s Troop F Computer Crimes Unit, in collaboration with the Troop F Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) at Ellenville, Violent Gang Narcotics Enforcement, Community Stabilization Unit, and the Orange County Child Abuse Unit.
Bayetis was arraigned in Plattekill Town Court Central Arraignment Part and remanded to Ulster County Jail with bail set at $10,000 cash, $20,000 secured bond, or $50,000 partially secured bond. He was scheduled to appear in the Town of Rochester Court earlier this week.
