PUTNAM COUNTY- Regardless of a Republican Primary in June, the race for the District No.8 seat on the Putnam Legislature, now held by retiring Legislator Amy Sayegh, will be a three-person race.
The Putnam County Conservative Party Executive Committee has endorsed Mahopac School Trustee Tanner McCracken as their nominee.
McCracken, 26, has served on the Mahopac School Board for the past six years.
The lifelong registered Republican said he was “honored and humbled” to receive the Conservative Party’s support. “The Conservative Party is the heart and soul of the Republican platform. The party represents a commitment to American values — and I have been proud to stand up for those values,” said McCracken, who added: “I am running to make Putnam County stronger and more affordable for hard-working residents, families, and seniors.”
The Putnam Republican Committee is backing Carmel Deputy Supervisor and Councilman Frank Lombardi to succeed Sayegh while the Putnam County Democratic Committee has thrown its support behind Gwendolyn Burke.
Primary Day is June 23.
