KENT- It was a night for celebration and congratulations when the Kent Fire Department held its annual installation dinner.

Now in its 55th year, the department’s membership and guests gathered at the Hilton DoubleTree Banquet Hall in Poughkeepsie Saturday for the event.

A number of special awards were presented including:  Firefighter of the Year: Alex Conte; Chief’s Award: Christopher Hill; President’s Award: Dana Murray; EMS Provider of the Year: Alexander Rosace; 55 Years of Service: Douglas Casey and the Lt. Michael Neuner Award: Steven Gasparrini.

Among the guests at the dinner was County Executive Kevin Byrne who administered the oaths of office to Chief Brennon Frowd and Assistant Chief Mathew Valente.

Byrne said he has known “both of these men for many years, so it was especially meaningful to be part of this moment for them and their families.

As a former volunteer firefighter, EMT, and past President of the Kent Fire Department, the evening brought back a lot of memories. In fact, I was the president of the department who approved Chief Frowd’s application when he first joined — making this a real full-circle moment for both of us.”

In addition to the two chiefs other officers administered their oaths were

Captains Daniel Buono and Steven Gasparrini;  Lieutenants Joseph Stevenson, Eric Seefranz, Robert Andrews, Daniel Wiley and Val Yankovskiy.

Administrative officers sworn in included: President: John Greene; Vice President: Thomas Goodrich; Secretary: Dana Murray; Treasurer: Norman Hill; Sergeant at Arms: Val Yankovskiy; Board of Directors: Alison McGlynn, Christopher Bruenn and Gerard Sedlak.
