CARMEL – Putnam County Executive Kevin Byrne will deliver his State of the County address this evening at a community forum in Putnam Valley.

This will be the first time the address is being given on the western side of the county, since in the past it had been presented either at the historic Putnam Courthouse in Carmel or at the Putnam County Golf Club in Mahopac Falls.

Byrne will report that during 2025, under his direction, the county has built a “more affordable, accountable, and accessible county for all while making strategic investments that strengthen its future.”

Byrne will also talk about tax relief, public safety initiatives, continuation of Putnam’s sales tax exemption on clothing and shoes, along with the continued reduction of long-term debt.

He also intends to discuss the county’s highly successful public transportation system through Putnam On-Demand while reviewing collaboration between the county and its towns and villages allowing for shared equipment, personnel and expertise reducing duplication of services and saving taxpayer dollars.

Tonight’s address gets underway at 6:30 p.m. at the Joe Palumbo Soccer Academy on Bryant Pond Road in Putnam Valley.
