TOWN OF POUGHKEEPSIE – A 52-year-old Town of Poughkeepsie man, suspected of selling dangerous drugs in the Spackenkill and Raymond Avenue areas of town, was busted by the Dutchess County Drug Task Force (DCDTF) on Wednesday night.
Daryl Jackson was arrested at the Juliet Billard Café on Raymond Ave in the Town of Poughkeepsie following a months-long investigation by the DCDTF into drug sales in the area.
The investigation had identified Jackson as an alleged narcotic and dangerous drug dealer operating out of a residence on Jean Drive in the Spackenkill area of town, as well as other locations. DCDTF agents made several narcotic purchases from the defendant throughout this investigation, according to DCDTF Detective Sergeant Adam Harris.
Undercover agents located Jackson at the Juliet Billiard Café and took him into custody. At the time of his arrest, Jackson was in possession of a large quantity of crack cocaine that was packaged for sale.
Once Jackson was in custody at the Juliet, agents raided the alleged dealer’s house at 15 Jean Drive in the Town of Poughkeepsie, where additional evidence of drug sales was seized. The Town of Poughkeepsie Police Department and the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office assisted at both scenes.
Jackson was charged with two felony counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance, arraigned in the Town of Poughkeepsie Court, and remanded to the Dutchess County Jail without bail. Several additional charges are pending against Jackson as a result of the investigation.
“The Dutchess County Drug Task Force will arrest dealers at their home, the bars they hang out in, or anywhere else we need to, so that we can keep our community safe,” Detective Sergeant Adam Harris told Mid-Hudson News.
