MONTICELLO – The Monticello Village Police Department has transitioned from the fax machine era into modern cloud-based public safety operations, going live on a modern Computer-Aided Dispatch and Records Management System platform.
They replace 911systems, a New York-based public safety technology provider.
The upgrade replaces an on-premises system that has been in use for over 20 years.
Chief David Lindsey said by moving dispatch and records operations to the cloudy, the department will significantly reduce infrastructure costs associated with local servers, hardware refreshes, maintenance, backups, and downtown risks that come with aging equipment, while gaining a platform built for faster call processing and more reliable response operations.
“This is a major step forward for our department and for the community we search,” the chief said. “In emergencies, minutes matter. Faster, clearer dispatch information helps us get the right units to the right place sooner, and that serves lives.” He said the upgrade makes Monticello a lot safer.
