CHESTER – The Chester Fire District has received a $3,500 grant from the state Department of Environmental Conservation Division of Forest Protection to purchase thermal imaging cameras (TIC).
From locating hidden fire to improving search operations, thermal imaging technology helps us work safer, smarter, and faster.
“The Town of Chester was happy to lend our grant writing services to the Fire District,” Town of Chester Supervisor Brandon Holdridge said. “We are all one Chester, and we are all safer because of this grant award.”
“These cameras will be crucial in helping us fight wildland fires and will help keep costs down for our taxpayers,” added the Chester Fire Department Board of Directors in a statement. “We are thankful to the Town of Chester and their grant writers for helping us prepare this.”
