David Rombousek

GOSHEN – David Rombousek, the man accused of fatally shooting Jason Finch last Sunday, has been indicted by an Orange County grand jury.

Rmbousek, 26, was charged with murder and criminal possession of a weapon for allegedly shooting Finch, 43, to death in what was called intentional murder.

Both men were from the City of Port Jervis.

District Attorney David Hoovler said the murder stemmed from a drug deal gone bad.

It is alleged that Rombousek fired several shots at Finch from an illegally possessed gun at about 12:30 a.m. on February 15.

Rombousek remains in the county jail without bail.

“The senseless violence allegedly perpetrated in this case is as tragic as it is needless,” said Hoovler. “We will now pursue justice on behalf of the family and friends of the victim, and our community at large.”

The arrest of the suspect was made in less than a day due to the efforts of several law enforcement agencies, said Port Jervis Police Chief William Worden.
