MAHOPAC- A 46-year-old Mahopac man wanted by State Police on a warrant issued in the upstate Warren County community of Queensbury was arrested by Carmel Police late Friday night for narcotics and weapons offenses following a traffic stop on Route 6 in Mahopac.
Police Chief Anthony Hoffmann said Saturday the Putnam 9-1-1 Center advised patrols that a pickup truck was being driven erratically on Route 6.
Officers canvassed the area locating the vehicle in a gas station near the Westchester-Putnam County line and according to the chief “observed the operator acting suspiciously. A records check revealed that the registered owner had an active, extraditable arrest warrant from upstate.”
The operator and registered owner of the vehicle was identified as Steven J. Bisordi.
A Carmel Police Department canine was called to the scene and an alert led to the recovery of fentanyl, multiple glass pipes, and other drug paraphernalia from the vehicle along with an imitation firearm.
Bisordi was charged with two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance and one count of Criminal Possession of a Weapon.
He was arraigned on the charges and released pending future court action.
