WOODBURY – When a developer is looking for a site on which to build, they weigh the infrastructure that is available, Orange County Partnership President Conor Eckert told the Orange County Chamber of Commerce on Thursday.
He told the business leaders that site selectors look at availability of water, wastewater and power infrastructure.
“Companies we are trying to attract are moving faster than ever. The power requirements are more substantial than ever, and the real focus on perspective planning as we look at business parks and we look at future manufacturing and job creation sites and being intentional pre-planning on infrastructure,” he said.
Eckert said Orange County is an ideal location for big business given its location at the intersection of Interstate 84, the Thruway and New York Route 17, soon to become Interstate 86.
