ROCK HILL – Assemblywoman Paula Kay (D, Rock Hill) has been appointed to the Standing Committee for Environmental Conservation.

The committee oversees legislation related to environmental policy, including pollution control, natural resource management, and environmental quality, reviewing bills affecting the Environmental Conservation Law (ECL), Executive Law, and Navigation Law. Key focus areas include climate change, PFAS restrictions, and environmental justice.

It also holds jurisdiction over matters relating to the Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) and monitors its enforcement of environmental laws. It focuses on safeguarding, conserving, and improving the state’s natural resources.

“The 100th district is one of the most beautiful and environmentally sensitive regions of the state,” Kay said. “I’m proud to work toward continued preservation and sensible use of our resources.”
