LIVINGSTON MANOR- The 67th annual Ice Carnival, hosted by the Livingston Manor Rotary Club, remains a cornerstone of Catskills winter tradition.  It was held at Rotary Park on Saturday, and the event celebrated nearly seven decades of community spirit with a blend of professional spectacle and local charm.

Attendees witnessed skating exhibitions by Olympic ice dancer Alexi Bielecki, while families enjoyed complimentary horse-drawn wagon rides and skating races.  Sullivan County Legislator Terry Bernardo said that although it was cold, everyone had a good time.

“It was just incredible to, you know, see them on the ice that they say Dorothy Hamill and Sarah Hughes skated on before.  It was a ton of fun.”

She said the Rotary Club maintained a festive atmosphere in the park.

“The community involvement, the free hot cocoa, the horse drawn ride that they had for everybody; it was just a family fun day,” Bernardo said.
