BINGHAMTON – The National Weather Service in Binghamton is saying the frigid weather will be in place through the weekend. Meteorologist Jake Chalupsky says the temperatures will be in the sub-zeros.
“We will have frigid temps over the rest of the week. With highs in the mid-teens and overnight lows in the negative single digits,” he said that you can get frostbite in a matter of seconds.
“If you do have to be out for a while take a break, allow yourself to come inside or into a car and warm up.,” he said. “And we also remind people to make sure their pets are taken care of and are inside. Do not leave them out for extended periods.”
Chalupsky said to keep an eye out for a possible winter storm over the weekend.
“We are monitoring the potential development of a nor’easter that will move up the coastline. Currently, the details on the storm are still a little bit fuzzy, with some models pushing it out to sea, and another model having it a little bit closer,” he said.
