POUGHKEEPSIE – The city’s declared Snow Emergency has been extended until 10 a.m. on Wednesday, January 28, but is subject to change.  Vehicles must be moved from Main Street today, January 27, 2026, by 7:30 p.m. to allow for continued snow removal.

Parking is prohibited on Main Street between Academy and Vassar Streets.  Vehicles parked in the restricted area after 7:30 p.m. are subject to being ticketed or towed, at the owner’s expense.

“Under this declared emergency, you must remove your vehicle from ALL other Snow Emergency Routes so that our DPW crews can plow,” said City Administrator Joe Donat.

The City of Poughkeepsie will notify residents when the declared Snow Emergency is lifted.

“We know that navigating these winter weather conditions is tough for everyone, and we value your patience as we work through these challenges together. Your cooperation is what allows the City of Poughkeepsie to create safe conditions for all,” Donat added.
