MONTGOMERY – The Montgomery Town Industrial Development Agency has approved a 10-year payment in lieu of taxes, sales and mortgage tax exemptions for Choice Films, which want to construct a 35,000 square foot studio adjacent to its current one of the same size on Bracken Road.

IDA Executive Director Vincent Rouhotas said that will be a “true turning point” for the town.

“For years Montgomery has been known primarily for warehousing and distribution and today that changes,” he said. “Our residents have concluded that they want higher impact economic development, and this project is just that. It will bring three state-of-the-art sound stages, modern office space, supporting productions from major studios like Netflix, Fox, Peacock, and Amazon, and this new studio firmly establishes Montgomery as the home of the film industry in Orange County.”

The current facility has four sound stages.

Rouhotas said the $21.6 million project, on a shovel-ready site, is expected to be completed by the end of the year.
