NEWBURGH – A lone robber held up the Rhinebeck Savings Bank at 456 Broadway in the City of Newburgh Monday afternoon.

Police received a panic alarm from two tellers and when officers arrived, the front door was locked.

Employees told investigators that a man told them he had a weapon, although none was seen and he made off with an unknown amount of cash.

He was last reported fleeing east on Broadway.

Newburgh Police were assisted by Orange County Sheriff’s deputies and State Police.

The investigation is continuing.
