CLARKSTOWN – A woman standing in the roadway on the northbound Palisades Interstate Parkway in the area of exit 9 in the Town of Clarkstown was struck by two vehicles and later died, State Police said.
Police said the preliminary investigation revealed that the woman, who has yet to be identified, was in the driving lane and was struck just after 6 p.m. on January 3 by a 2013 Honda Odyssey that propelled her into the passing lane. The victim was then struck by a passing 2014 Mini Cooper.
The woman was transported to Montefiore Nyack Hospital with serious injuries and later died.
The investigation is continuing and anyone who may have witnessed the incident is asked to call State Police Haverstraw Bureau of Criminal Investigation at 845-344-5300.
