BREWSTER- The tradition continues in Brewster today when the Southeast Cultural Arts Coalition hosts its annual Concert for Peace.
The concert will feature music by Mozart, John Rutter, R. Strauss and Vaughan Williams, played by Robert Zubrycki (violin), Keve Wilson (oboe), Mike Mulder (piano) and Philip Anderson (tenor).
Works include John Rutter’s “Brother Heinrich’s Christmas,” that tells the story of the 14th-century Dominican mystic Heinrich Suso who – according to legend – notated the carol “In Dulci Jubilo” after it had been sung to him by a band of angels. The piece features Sigismund, Brother Heinrich’s donkey, a Christmas celebration at the monastery, a hard-to-please abbot and a wine-loving archbishop. The concert will also include other festive music with plenty of opportunities for the audience to join in.
The program gets underway at 2 p.m. at the Studio Around the Corner, 67 Main Street, Brewster.
Tickets are free, but a $20 suggested admission is requested to support the non-profit’s ongoing arts programs.
Seating is limited. Reservations may be made on line at
