ALBANY – Workers in the Hudson Valley will see more in their paychecks in the new year.
New York’s minimum wage will increase again on January 1, 2026, marking the third consecutive year of scheduled raises.
Under the plan, the minimum wage will rise by 50 cents to $16 per hour.
In the City of New York, Westchester County and Long Island, the hourly rate will increase to $17.
The rest of the state will see the minimum wage will increase to $16 per hour.
The increase is part of a multi-year agreement approved by state lawmakers.
Beginning in 2027, future minimum wage increases will be tied to inflation, allowing wages to adjust automatically based on rising costs.
Governor Kathy Hochul said the policy is intended to help workers across the state keep pace with the cost of living. The governor emphasized that indexing wages to inflation would provide long-term stability for working New Yorkers.
