CLARKSTOWN – State Police don’t know why Bravo Nondo, 45, of Albany, stopped his vehicle on the exit 14 acceleration ramp of the Thruway in Clarkstown, and walked to the rear of the vehicle. He was struck and killed by a motorist who was entering the highway.
Police said the accident occurred at 4:40 a.m. on Thursday, December 18 when a 2019 Nissan driven by Gregg Albaum, 35, of Nanuet was attempting to enter the highway and took evasive action to avoid Nondo’s car, which was stopped in the lane. Albaum’s vehicle subsequently struck Nondo who was pronounced dead at the scene.
Albaum was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
The State Attorney General’s Office was notified of the incident and responded to the scene.
