TOWN OF POUGHKEEPSIE – Less than a week after serving as one of the emcees for the City of Poughkeepsie’s Festival of Lights, well-known community figure Frank “Frankie” Flowers, 52, was arrested on another series of domestic violence charges.  Flowers was arrested and arraigned on Wednesday on the misdemeanor charges of assault, criminal obstruction of breathing, and endangering the welfare of a child following a domestic incident near his residence on College Avenue in the Town of Poughkeepsie.  The victim in this incident is believed to be the mother of his youngest child.

Flowers was remanded to the Dutchess County Jail on $5,000 cash bail, $10,000 bond, or $15,000 partially-secured bond.  He was released on Friday after posting bail.  As a condition of his release, Flowers has been placed on electronic monitoring through the Dutchess County Probation Department.

Flowers, who delivers toys for underprivileged families during the holidays, has been involved in domestic violence in the past.  In 2024 in Connecticut, he was charged with multiple felonies after breaking into the home of the mother of one of his children on two occasions.  In October 2024, in exchange for a reduced sentence, Flowers pleaded guilty to two counts of criminal trespass in exchange for a two-year conditional discharge.  The defense attorney representing Flowers for those cases said the formation of the plea is an admission that the prosecution had enough evidence to proceed with the cases against the defendant.

Violating of the terms of the agreement could put Flowers in Connecticut prison for up to two years.  Some of the conditions, according to news in Connecticut, require Flowers to avoid being arrested for two years from the date of sentencing and refrain from any type of domestic violence.  .
