BREWSTER- Downtown Brewster will resemble a Currier and Ives holiday card today when the Cultural Arts Coalition and the Southeast Museum hosts a celebration of holiday cheer.

A variety of community organizations from the entire region will converge on the Old Town Hall Theater to show their creativity and bring their missions to life with beautifully-themed trees, a Kwanzaa display and a menorah.

The Festival of Trees celebration kicks off at 4:30 p.m. on the steps of Old Town Hall before caroling to the Brewster Village Tree Lighting at the Metro North station, led by the C.V. School Starr Chorus.

Organizations decorating themed trees this year include the Putnam Humane Society, Brewster/Carmel Garden Club, Putnam Pride, Shot by Jessy Photography Studio, CV Starr Chorus, Putnam Symphony, Master Gardeners, Southeast Museum, Brewster Theater Company and Cultural Arts Coalition’s Old Town Hall Theatricals.

The trees can also be viewed on New Years’ Day following the Cultural Arts Coalition’s annual free Concert for Peace in the Studio Around the Corner at 67 Main Street.
