Marvin Hampton

GOSHEN – A 26-year-old Marlboro man has been sentenced in Orange County Court to six years in state prison followed by three years of post-release supervision following his guilty plea to assault.

It was alleged that on March 13, 2025 at about 4:30 a.m., Marvin Hampton approached two men on William Street in the City of Newburgh.

After inquiring as to who the men were, Hampton punched one of the men as they attempted to run away and then stabbed the man, causing a large laceration.

A passing motorist stopped and took the victim to the hospital where he underwent surgery.

Hampon admitted to intentionally stabbing the victim.

“This defendant’s violent admitted actions are as vicious as they are senseless,” said District Attorney David Hoovler.
